Amazon FBA Side Hustle Is Back

I’ve had an Amazon FBA side hustle for years, actually back in 2011 I turned the side hustle into a pretty decent business.

Back then I was an idiot though, my only focus was who can I impress with my wannabee lavish lifestyle, I dropped the FBA stuff to go all in on a hotel booking platform which fundamentally failed massively and lumbered me in the debt I am still paying off to this day, I often wonder what life would have been like if I’d have gone all in on Amazon FBA instead.

When I made my ‘comeback’ to the business world in 2019 by building a mini digital marketing agency, I started to look at Amazon FBA again as a way to draw down the debt, to get quick product flips in and quick wins.

It helped me clear £2,000-£3,000 a month off my debt but I was burning myself out juggling the online presence of my digital marketing clients and trying to find stock to sell on Amazon then label it, pack it and arrange pallet collections.

Despite what the spotty teenagers aka the ‘Amazon guru’s’ tell you, Amazon FBA isn’t passive income, it’s actually very labour intensive. Finding products takes time, negotiating deals takes time, arranging shipments takes time and guess what else takes time, dealing with returns, Amazon price tankers and the rest of the hurdles which you come across running an FBA business.

I just didn’t have that time as my first business took up 70-80 hours a week on its own,

I dropped the side hustle in order to service my digital marketing clients fully and It started to push me more and more into thinking ‘im sick of helping others grow, i want to grow my own thing, all im doing is pushing other peoples dreams and not my own’

As I mentioned in my earlier blog and vlog HERE I shut down the digital marketing business to finally go all in on my dream business, an ecommerce agency. It makes perfect sense to pick the Amazon FBA hustle back up to help both clear some debt AND drum up some capital for the new business!
