Butlins Big Weekender Minehead

I’d seen all the adverts for these Butlin’s Big Weekenders and always thought, looks a good laugh that.

As with anything in adult life, the thought process was always ‘I’ll do that one day’ but how often do we say and think these and never actually get around to doing it! I saw the advert in a time where I was overworked and in need of a break, at the same time it was a last minute offer too and it cost less than 70 quid for 2 people! 35 quid each for 3 nights accommodation plus access to the acts, I’ve paid more for a meal! Sod it I’m in!

I knew exactly what we were in for heading to Butlin’s Minehead so there really was no surprises, the accommodation was run down and basic but what do you really expect for £11 per person per night.

For me, it was just what the doctor ordered, a chance to switch off from the constant hustle, to dance to acts I don’t think i’d ever go see in concert and to get good and drunk.
